Smart water meters now cover about 99.5 per cent of Oman

Smart water meter coverage across Oman has reached about 99.5 per cent, the Oman Observer reported, in figures from Nama Water.

The meters are read over three kinds of network: 4G, NB-IoT and LoRaWAN. A utility that uses more than one can choose the link that suits each area.

For what each network is, see NB-IoT and LoRaWAN in the IN865 band in our glossary.
