Metrys and Meterexo: one maker, two brands

Metrys is our water meter brand. Meterexo is the meter data management platform that turns meter readings into bills and reports. Mega Worker Pvt Ltd is the company behind both.

Metrys for the meter, Meterexo for the reading

Metrys and Meterexo are the two brands of Mega Worker Pvt Ltd, a Dehradun company that makes water meters and the systems that read them. Metrys is the water meter brand: the meters, flow instruments and accessories that go into the pipe. Meterexo is the meter data management platform where readings from automatic meter reading (AMR) meters are collected and turned into bills and reports.

Metrys is what you specify when meters are chosen for a scheme. Meterexo is what the scheme uses once readings have to become bills. The two are already used together: METRYS AMR meters are deployed on water supply schemes and read in Meterexo.

The two brands

A Metrys multi-jet dry-dial water meter, its register lid hinged open, on a blue body with brass threaded tailpieces. A Metrys water meter with an AMR module seated on the register, the lid open and a sealing wire through the lug. A Metrys domestic ultrasonic water meter at DN20, with an LCD register showing flow total and rate, and brass tailpieces. A large-bore Metrys electromagnetic flow meter with a flanged blue body and an integrally mounted transmitter.

Metrys water meters

Metrys is the brand for Mega Worker's water meters and flow instruments. The range runs from meters for a single household connection to bulk meters on supply mains.

Multi-jet water meters

Mechanical meters for household connections and small commercial supplies. They are read on the dial, or by an AMR unit where the scheme collects readings by radio.

AMR multi-jet meters

Multi-jet meters set up for automatic meter reading, so that an AMR unit can pick up the count. Used where readings are to be collected without a meter reader.

Bulk Woltmann meters

Meters for larger pipes: supply mains, the inlets of district zones, and bulk connections to housing societies and industry. They measure how much water enters a part of the network.

Ultrasonic meters

Static meters that measure flow by timing sound pulses sent through the water. Nothing moves in the water path.

Prepaid meters

Meters for supplies where the consumer pays for water in advance of using it.

Integrated AMR meters

Meters with the reading electronics built in, rather than fitted as a separate unit.

Metrys flow instruments and AMR units

Instruments that report flow, pressure and water quality, and the unit that reads the meter. Sizes, ratings and datasheets for every family are on metryswatermeter.com.

Electromagnetic flow meters

Full-bore flow meters for treatment plants, pumping stations and trunk mains. They leave the pipe clear and measure flow by the voltage water produces as it moves through a magnetic field.

AMR units

The reading units that sit with a meter and send its count by radio. In the field this is the METRYS AMR-100, which reports over LoRaWAN.

Pressure transmitters

Instruments that report line pressure, used at pumping stations and at points in a distribution network where pressure needs watching.

Chlorine analysers

Instruments that measure residual chlorine, so an operator can check that treated water still carries enough disinfectant at the point of measurement.

Meterexo: the meter data management platform

Meter data management (MDM) is the software between a utility's meters and its billing. Meterexo, at mdm.meterexo.com, collects meter readings, holds them per consumer and per scheme, and produces bills and reports from them.

Readings without house visits

Readings arrive by radio from the AMR unit on the meter, so nobody has to walk a route reading dials.

Readings per consumer and per scheme

Each reading is stored against the consumer it belongs to and the scheme that consumer is on.

Bills

Meterexo produces bills from the collected readings, so a bill rests on a recorded reading instead of an estimate.

Reports

Meterexo produces reports from the same readings for the people who run the scheme.

Meter, AMR unit and platform as one system

On a water supply scheme the three parts work as one system. The Metrys meter measures the water, the METRYS AMR-100 sends the reading over LoRaWAN, and Meterexo turns it into a bill and a report. The schemes where METRYS meters are deployed and read in Meterexo are on the projects page.
