Embedded engineer
Factory · Full time · Electronics
Embedded engineers work on the electronic side of the factory. The role covers support for the electronic manufacturing stage that comes before assembly, and testing, configuring and fault-finding METRYS AMR-100 units and their LoRaWAN link to Meterexo.
What you'll do
- Test and fault-find METRYS AMR-100 units.
- Support the electronic manufacturing stage of meter production.
- Configure AMR units for LoRaWAN in the 865–867 MHz band and check that they join the network.
- Inspect sensors and electronic components that come in from suppliers.
- Trace reporting problems from the meter, through the gateway, to Meterexo.
- Work with the field team on units that fail on site.
- Record test results and the causes of failures.
What we look for
- A diploma or degree in electronics, electronics and communication, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of microcontroller-based electronics; experience loading and configuring firmware on devices helps.
- An understanding of LoRaWAN or other low-power radio, or the drive to learn it quickly.
- Confidence with a multimeter, an oscilloscope and a soldering iron.
- Methodical fault-finding and clear notes.
