IP68

An ingress protection rating under IEC 60529. The 6 means the enclosure is dust-tight; the 8 means it is protected against continuous immersion under conditions agreed between manufacturer and user, which must be more severe than IP67. The code does not fix the depth or duration, so they should be stated.

Meters in pits often sit under water after rain or a burst. An IP68 claim means little without the tested depth and time, so ask for both.
